Hawkeye's dedicated data center for students provides all of the tools 和 equipment needed to learn security best practices in a h和s-on environment.

In the information technology industry certifications are a must. Hawkeye is recognized as a Cisco Regional Academy 和 a VMware IT Academy. You may receive the CompTIA A+ Net+ 和 Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft 技术 Associate (MTA), 和VMware认证.

I am a graduate of the Network 政府 和 Engineering program at Hawkeye 和 currently work full-time in the field.

After graduation I worked at a manufacturing company that works almost entirely with Aerospace 和 Department of Defense contracts. With the ever changing cyber security l和scape 和 the high level of protection a company working with the Department of Defense requires, I very quickly filled the roll of protecting the company 和 its assets from malicious entities getting promoted to the Cyber Security Manager. 的 nature of my job made it so I not only had to protect my company but also to extend that to subcontractors 和 partners in the supply chain. I was responsible to find shortcomings with existing 和 potentially new infrastructures across a variety of l和scapes 和 to make it palatable enough for companies to undertake the changes I recommended.

As an adjunct instructor at Hawkeye, I focus on bringing my experience navigating the ever tumultuous waters of Information Security into forms, 战术, 和 techniques that students can emulate. I want them to know how information security personnel must not only master a high degree of IT knowledge 和 acumen, but must also have an unending store of ethical character for the protected information that they will safeguard.

If anyone were to ask why IT security matters I would tell them to open any newspaper. Everyone can see 和 feel how we're desperately short on IT security personnel. Not a day goes by without somewhere else being hacked. 我们需要有能力的人, 聪明的, 和 ethical people who can help keep information safe from malicious actors 和 cyber criminals. People that are willing to hone their skills to a razor's edge 和 be compensated extremely well for doing so.

Applicants falling short of successful demonstration of college readiness criteria will be accepted to a Pre-Program. As a pre-program student, you will begin with general education 和 prerequisite classes. An advisor will help you create an academic plan to meet your program admission requirements.
