Delores is a compassionate, loving and devoted parent to her family, friends and loving husband James Commack. Our mother always aided and assisted her family, friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Delores Dunbar was born in Paducah KY and moved to Waterloo, 1962年的IA, she is the mother of four children, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Delores always taught the importance of education and financial responsibility. She gave the labor of love teaching each generation, family traditions such as cooking, baking and the protection of a loving home. Always instructing her family and friends about fiscal responsibility, "Never spend more than you make, always save and don’t touch."

Our mother was an A student in school and was offered full scholarships from universities in the state of Kentucky. Delores married after high school and chose to take care of her family forgoing her dream of a college education.

In Iowa she remarried James Commack. Delores completed nursing school, but decided to go into teaching. She obtained her (CDA) Child Development Certificate at Head Start, team-teaching for 10 years. Later she worked for John Deere, and subsequently retired from Black Hawk County after 17 years. Through-out her working career because of her work ethics, she was always promoted into leadership positions.

Delores encouraged her children to complete their education. Her children achieved advanced education Tony Keeling (M.Ed), LaTanya Keeling Graves (MSHS), Brigette Keeling (HS) and Rhonda Keeling (BSHS).

We have established the H. Delores Keeling Commack Scholarship for students committed to achieving their first two years toward their bachelor’s degree. Delores valued education. She believed in the importance of stepping forward to assist others, combining her appreciation for education and our philanthropy wishes, it is our hopes that this scholarship will bless students to reach their educational goals for generations to come.
